II State Track & Field Meet
Ethan
Freet: 2009 Boys Track State 300 Hurdles Champion!
Senior Ethan Freet successfully
defended his Division II State 300
Hurdles title running a new school record time of 37.92.
Last spring
he became the first state champion in London High School
history.
This spring he weathered the pressure and also led the
4x200 and
4x400 relay teams to new school records along the way.
Congratulations to Ethan, Coach Horne, and Coach Caserta.
Ethan will run for the University of Cincinnati.

Senior Alyssa Edley capped
her track career with a 3rd place finish at the State
Meet long jumping 17'1.00". Her performance earned
her All-Ohio honors. She also qualified to State in
the 400 dash, but did not qualify from the semis to
the finals.

The Red Raiders 4x200 Relay team of senior Jacob Eldridge,
sophomore Justin Hoosier, sophomore Jason Copley, and
senior Ethan Freet earned All-Ohio honors with a 7th
place finish in the State Meet finals. Their semi-final
qualifying time of 1:29.92 set a new school record.
Edley
named Dispatch Central District DII Girls Field Event
Athlete of the Year Senior Alyssa Edley was just named as Central
District Division II Girls Field Event Athlete of the
Year by the Columbus Dispatch for her 3rd place finish
in the State Track Meet.

London Seniors to continue Football career
Five London seniors recently signed to continue their
Football careers at the collegiate level.
With Head Coach Bill
Dennis are: Zach Helman (Wabash), Levi Johnson (Bluffton),
Justin Wolverton
(Wilmington), Nick Newman (Ohio Northern), and Aaron
Mabe (Heidelberg).

Freet to run
for Team Ohio
Senior Ethan Freet was selected to run for Team Ohio
in the Midwest Meet of Champions versus Team Michigan
and Team Indiana at Jackson, Michigan on Saturday, June
13, 2009. He placed 8th in the 300m Hurdles in 39.91.
Nathaniel
Byrum signs with Urbana
LHS senior Nathaniel Byrum with his father and head
coach Andrew Byrum and mother Suz Byrum signs a National
Letter of Intent to play Soccer at Urbana University.
Standing is LHS Athletic Director Terry Nance. Byrum
has been First Team All-SCOL 4 times and was First Team
All-District this past season.

Care for Life & Sport
Nationwide Children's Hospital Sports Medicine
and London High School are proud to celebrate National
Athletic Training Month during March. This year’s
theme is “Health Care for Life & Sport.”
The National Athletic
Trainers Association (NATA) represents professional
who specialize in the prevention, assessment, treatment
and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses. Certified
Athletic Trainers (ATC) are allied healthcare professionals
who hold at least a bachelors degree and are focused
on injury prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation
particularly in the orthopedic and musculoskeletal disciplines.
Athletic trainers provide value and financial return
on investment to secondary schools, occupational employers,
physicians, hospitals, and clinics. For more information
about the profession of athletic training please visit

Nationwide Children's
Hospital Sports medicine is proud to be the provider
of athletic training services to London High School.

Forms Must Be Turned In To the Athletic Office...
Completed
forms must be turned in to the Athletic Office before
you can participate in any sport. You must also
go to the Athletic office and pick up the OHSAA Athletic
Eligibility Bulletin. You are required to read this
bulletin. This form does not need to be returned.
Your signatures on the Athletic Participation Form acknowledges
you read it.
OHSAA Pre Participation
Physical Exam Form...
A
doctor's physical examination is necessary to verify that
your athlete is physically able to participate in sports.
If you are aware of special medical concerns of your athlete,
we ask that you make the coach and athletic trainer aware
of the problem. This is very important for us in handling
treatment of an injury or medical problem. (two-sided
