Junior Ethan Freet became the first STATE CHAMPION in London High School history with his 1st place finish in the Division II 300m Hurdles on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Ohio State's Jesse Owens Stadium.

June 7, 2008 - STATE TOURNAMENT
Junior Ethan Freet became the first STATE CHAMPION in London High School history with his 1st place finish in the Division II 300m Hurdles on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Ohio State's Jesse Owens Stadium. Freet placed 8th a year ago in the same event. His trip to
the top of the podium was almost not to be as he barely qualified from the Lexington Regional with a 4th place finish, a mere 1/100th of a second from not qualifying. Once at Jesse Owens, he took center stage with a school record 39.35, winning his semi-final with
Friday's fastest time. To claim his championship, Ethan blasted another school record in 38.60 for the gold medal. Adrian Jackson and Ethan Freet qualify for STATE MEET...Jackson claims Regional 800 crown while Freet places 2nd in Regional 300 hurdles.
Senior Adrian Jackson saved his best for his biggest race of the season and pulled out a tight victory in the Regional 800 with 1:56.24. Jackson held off Zach Lathrop (River Valley) 1:56.53, Michael Rutherford (Desales) 1:56.75, and Mitch Howard (Valleyview) 1:56.78. "My goal is to win the state and to do that I'm going to have to reach down for something extra at the end just like today". Freet posted a PR 39.70 to earn his State Meet ticket in the 300 hurdles.
